1. San Francisco 49ers: QB Aaron Rodgers, California. The 49ers are in need of a franchise quarterback to lead them into the future.
2. Miami Dolphins: RB Ben Ronnie Brown, Auburn. In Brown, Miami gets a legitimate threat every time he touches the ball.
3. Cleveland Browns: WR Braylon Edwards, Michigan. The Browns need playmakers, and the explosive Edwards fits the bill.
4. Chicago Bears: RB Cedric Benson, Texas. Head coach Lovie Smith wants to run the football effectively, starting with the productive Benson.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: RB Carnell Williams, Auburn. Jon Gruden met with Williams at the Senior Bowl and likes what he brings to the table.
6. Tennessee Titans: CB Antrel Rolle, Miami (Fla.): Tennessee is looking to upgrade the CB position with the departure of Samari Rolle.
7. Minnesota Vikings: WR Mike Williams, USC. While replacing Randy Moss may not be possible, Mike Williams will be a huge target.
8. Arizona Cardinals: QB Alex Smith, Utah. After watching Kurt Warner for a season, this talented and smart young man from Utah will shine.
9. Washington Redskins: CB Adam Jones, West Virgina. In Jones, Washington gets an solid talent that can be a factor in the return game.
10. Detroit Lions: LB Derrick Johnson, Texas. Johnson is easily the best linebacker in the draft as Detroit tries to improve its front seven.
11. Dallas Cowboys: DE/OLB Shawne Merriman, Maryland. Merriman has the power, speed, and quickness in projecting as a DE/OLB.
12. San Diego Chargers: DE Marcus Spears, LSU. The Chargers seek consistency and a pass-rusher from the DE position.
13. Houston Texans: OT Alex Barron, Florida State. The left tackle will provide the backside support for quarterback David Carr.
14. Carolina Panthers: WR Troy Williamson, South Carolina. Speed kills and Williamson is a legitimate vertical threat.
15. Kansas City Chiefs: CB Carlos Rogers, Auburn. The Chiefs are in need of talent and depth in the defensive backfield.
16. New Orleans Saints: OLB/S Thomas Davis, Georgia. New Orleans has issues in the defensive backfield, and Davis is versatile.
17. Cincinnati Bengals: DE Erasmus James, Wisconsin. James may be the most underrated pass rushing defensive end in the draft.
18. Minnesota Vikings: DE Dan Cody, Oklahoma. Cody has the ability to be a force against the run as well as the pass.
19. St. Louis Rams: OT Jammal Brown, Oklahoma. St. Louis has had problems with its right offensive tackle position for the past few seasons.
20. Dallas Cowboys: WR Roddy White, UAB. Very reliable as a receiver. Was a star at the Senior Bowl against top-caliber competition.
21. Jacksonville Jaguars: CB Justin Miller, Clemson. Miller is solid in the defensive backfield and is a good player in the return game.
22. Baltimore Ravens: DT Travis Johnson, Florida State. Should be a great fit in the Baltimore defense which expects to go to a 4-3.
23. Seattle Seahawks: DE/DT Shaun Cody, USC. Cody has the size and strength to play tackle, but projects best at end.
24. Green Bay Packers: CB Marlin Jackson, Michigan. Has the size to play safety and the speed and coverage skills to play cornerback.
25. Denver Broncos: DE Demarcus Ware, Troy State. Has the speed, strength, and quickness to play with a hand-down on the line or off the ball.
26. New York Jets: DE Antajj Hawthorne, Wisconsin. Tough call here with Hawthorne or tight-end Heath Miller.
27. Atlanta Falcons: S Brodney Pool, Oklahoma. Pool projects as an immediate starter and upgrade over the departed Cory Hall.
28. San Diego Chargers: WR Mark Clayton, Oklahoma. An explosive San Diego offense adds a quality receiver.
29. Indianapolis Colts: CB Fabian Washington, Nebraska. The Colts need help at DT, LB, and CB. Washington has adequate size and speed.
30. Pittsburgh Steelers: OG Elton Brown, Virginia. Depth is an issue for Pittsburgh across the offensive line. Brown is the best guard in the draft.
31. Philadelphia Eagles: LB Darryl Blackstock, Virginia. Depth at linebacker is an issue in Philadelphia.
32. New England Patriots: CB Corey Webster, LSU. Depth issues in the defensive backfield and potentially linebacker make this a tough call.
