The Seattle Seahawks announced
the release of WR Alex Bannister, DT Garrett McIntyre and WR Jerheme Urban earlier
this afternoon.
Bannister, A fifth-round
pick in 2001, made the 2003 Pro Bowl as a special team stand-out but has broken
his collarbone three times in the past two years and never evolved into a receiving
threat.
Urban demonstrated some
skills in the limited times he saw action with the Seahawks but was made expendable
due to continuous injury.
McIntyre signed with the
Seahawks in early May as an undrafted rookie. His status pertaining to his release
is unknown.
