Former Atlanta Falcons Head
Coach Jim Mora will be joining the Seahawks as assistant head coach and coach
to the DBs. Mora recently reached agreement with the Seahawks and head coach Mike
Holmgren could not be happier.
"I'm excited to have
the opportunity to add someone to the staff with the energy and passion that
Jim brings to the game," Holmgren said.
"He is a strong teacher
and talented coach who will make us better."
Mora - who is from the Northwest
and played for the Washington Huskies - gets to come home, work for a strong
franchise and head coach he has long admired.
"I'm thrilled to join
not only what I believe is a quality organization, but for the chance to work
with one of the finest head coaches in the league," Mora said. "That,
coupled with the opportunity for my family to be in the great northwest is extremely
exciting."
It remains to be seen the exact impact adding Mora will have on the team in
general and the defensive backs specifically but his energy and passion and
ability to fire up his players are traits that will no doubt be extremely useful
as the Seahawks continue on their quest to make it back - and win - the Super
Bowl.
