The Seattle Times reported this morning that Babineaux and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a five-year extension that could be worth up to $15 million dollars when you throw in bonuses and incentives.
In his four year career Babineaux has started ten games and is a significant contributor at safety, cornerback and on special teams.
The 2005 season, his second, has been his best as he totaled 75 tackles, one forced fumble and three interceptions -- including one late a game versus Dallas that set up a game-winning field goal by K Josh Brown.
Last year, Babineaux had a game-saving tackle against Dallas in the first round of the playoffs when he brought down Cowboys QB Tony Romo short of the first down after Romo had fumbled to snap of what was expected to be the go-ahead field goal.
Babineaux is expected to sign the contract late this morning.
