According to ESPN, Seahawks
quarterbacks coach and former Seahawk Jim Zorn has accepted a job with the Washington Redskins as their offensive coordinator. Zorn, 54, has coached quarterbacks
for the team since the 2001 season.
Zorn met with Redskins owner
Dan Snyder this past week. After returning to Seattle and speaking with the
front office about negotiating a new contract, he felt the offer with Washington
was the better route.
Jim Zorn has been credited
with much of Matt Hasselbeck's growth into a 4-time pro-bowl quarterback. Hasselbeck
has mentioned how Zorn was often a calming influence through his earlier years
when a rough period often included chants of "Dilfer! Dilfer!" from
impatient fans in the stands.
