Running back Justin Forsett, the star of the first half of 2008 Seattle Seahawks training camp, was re-signed to the team's practice squad on Thursday.
Forsett, a 7th round draft choice from California, made the team's 53-man roster but was released on September 9th. Seattle had hoped to add him to the practice squad back then, but he claimed on waivers by the Indianapolis Colts.
Forsett was the Colts primary kick and punt returner, returning 11 kicks for 248 yards (22.5 avg) and 4 punts for 36 yards in three games with Indianapolis. He was released by the Colts on Monday.
During the preseason, Forsett led the Seahawks with 248 yards rushing, including 136 in one game against the Chicago Bears.
In addition to adding Forsett, the Seahawks signed quarterback Travis Lulay to the practice squad on Thursday. Lulay entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Seahawks in 2006, and was released before the start of the regular season. Lulay was allocated by Seattle to NFL Europa in 2007.
Running back Matt Lawrence and wide receiver Trent Shelton were released to make room for Forsett and Lulay.
