Personnel Groupings
The Seahawks use seven personnel groupings. They are:
Regular: 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE
E: 2 RB, 3 WR
U: 2 RB, 1 WR, 2 TE
Y: 2 RB, 3 TE
Tiger: 1 RB, 2 WR, 2 TE
Zebra: 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE
Eagle: 1 RB, 4 WR
Personnel groupings do not refer to formations. If the Seahawks had Maurice Morris, John Carlson, Will Heller, Koren Robinson and Deion Branch in the game, they would be in “Tiger” personnel regardless of how formation.
Here’s a look at the personnel groupings Seattle used on their 927 official offensive plays: (Plays negated by penalty and two-point conversion attempts not included.)

In the Slot
Including running backs, tight ends and, of course, Seneca Wallace, nineteen different Seahawks lined up at wide receiver in 2008. Here’s this list, in order of “Slot %”, at who lined up in the slot. (This list does not refer to personnel groupings. For non-wide receivers, the “Total” refers to the number of plays they were clearly lined up as a wide receiver.)
