The Seattle Seahawks sign veteran cornerback Travis Fisher

The Seattle Seahawks have signed veteran cornerback Travis Fisher to a one-year deal, his agent Drew Rosenhaus announced via his Twitter page.

Originally a second-round pick by the St. Louis Rams in the 2002 NFL Draft, the 5-10, 189-pound cornerback from Central Florida has spent the past two seasons playing for the Detroit Lions.

He was released by the Lions on May 1.

Fisher has started 74 of his 86 games played in the NFL, totaling 336 tackles, 32 passes defended and 9 interceptions during his career.

In addition to writing for NorthwestFootball.net, Brian McIntyre maintains his own blog, where he’s tracking the signing status of the 2009 NFL Draft Class, and writes for FalconInsider.com. If you’d like to e-mail Brian, you may do so by clicking here.
