To reach the 75-man roster limit by today's 4pm ET deadline, the Seattle Seahawks release former Washington State standout.

To reach the 75-man roster limit by today's 4pm ET deadline, the Seattle Seahawks have waived wide receiver Michael Bumpus.

Bumpus, a former Washington State University standout, signed with the Seahawks after not being selected in the 2008 NFL Draft. He appeared in four games for the 'Hawks during the 2008 season, including making one start, catching 5 passes for 48 yards and his first NFL touchdown. He would spend the majority of the season on Seattle's practice squad.

Playing time has been scarce this summer for Bumpus, who did not log an offensive snap during last Saturday's 14-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

By waiving Bumpus now, they give him an opportunity to catch on someplace else. If not, he still has practice squad eligibility remaining and the 'Hawks could look to add him to their squad after the final cuts are made on Saturday afternoon.
