Seahawks Agree to Terms With CFL Star

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with CFL defensive end Ricky Foley, who posted 12 quarterback sacks for the B.C. Lions last season.

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with CFL defensive end Ricky Foley, Paul Sheehy, Foley's agent, announced.

Terms of Foley's deal are unknown.

Foley is a native of Courtice, Ontario who was a first-round pick (4th overall) by the BC Lions in 2006 out of York University. In four seasons with the Lions, Foley has posted 72 tackles, 20 quarterback sacks, and recovered four fumbles.

With former BC Lions standout Cameron Wake signing with the Miami Dolphins last off-season, Foley received an increase in playing time in 2009. The 6-2, 245-pounder responded with 12 quarterback sacks, earning the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian Award.

Like Wake before him, Foley used his CFL success to score workouts with several NFL teams in recent weeks, including the St. Louis Rams, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and San Diego Chargers.
