Seahawks 2010 Schedule Announced

The NFL announced the 2010 regular season schedule, and the hiring of Pete Carroll was not enough to land the Seattle Seahawks on its initial slate of prime-time games.

The National Football League released its 2010 regular season schedule, and for the second season in a row, the Seattle Seahawks will not be featured in prime-time.

Seattle's 2010 regular season schedule will open at home against the San Francisco 49ers, before traveling to face the Denver Broncos, their former AFC West rival. In Week 3, the Seahawks return home to face another former AFC West foe, the San Diego Chargers, before closing out the first month of the regular season on the road against the St. Louis Rams.

Seattle's bye week falls in Week 5.

Following the bye, the Seahawks head back to the midwest to face the Chicago Bears.

A week seven home against the two-time defending NFC West Champion Arizona Cardinals begins a four-week stretch of games where the Seahawks stay on the west coast. After facing the Cardinals, the Seahawks travel to the Oakland Raiders on Halloween, which promises to be interesting, before returning home for a Week 9 contest against Eli Manning and the New York Giants.

The west coast respite concludes with a visit to the Arizona Cardinals.

After a road trip to the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints in Week 11, which is scheduled for a 1:15pm PT kickoff despite being on the east coast, the Seahawks return home for a two-game homestand against the Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers.

The Seahawks take another short flight to the Bay Area on December 12 for their second game against the San Francisco 49ers, before finishing the regular season with two-out-of-three at home, beginning with a December 19 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

In Week 16, the Seahawks have the unenviable task of making the long, cross-country flight--on Christmas--to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on December 26, a game that presently starts at 10am PT.

Seattle wraps up the regular season slate at home against the Rams.
