Each year, the NFL welcomes a litany of rookie head coaches. In 2006, seven first-timers – New Orleans’ Sean Payton, Minnesota’s Brad Childress, Eric Mangini of the Jets, Houston’s Gary Kubiak, Green Bay’s Mike McCarthy and Rod Marinelli in Detroit constructed the list that was completed by Scott Linehan, the new head coach of the St. Louis Rams.
