| Biography: |
2004:Wistrom came to Seattle after the 2003 season in a much-ballyhooed deal which landed him a total of $33 million, including a $14 million signing bonus. And when he wasn’t recovering from various injuries, Wistrom appeared to be worth every penny. He is an absolutely relentless defender whose pursuit skills make up for his lack of ideal speed. In eight games in 2004, Wistrom amassed 38 tackles (27 solo), four sacks and four passes defensed. A healthy Grant Wistrom will be crucial to the Seahawks’ aim to rebound from a defensive ranking of 26th in the NFL.
2003: Started all 16 regular season games and one postseason game for the Rams. Recorded career-high 108 tackles (57 solo) with 7.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Also tied career-high with four passes defensed.
2002: Played in 15 games with 14 starts. Finished season with career high 97 tackles (43 solo), including four for loss. Also tallied 4.5 sacks, one interception, three passes defensed, one forced fumble, and career-high two fumble recoveries.
2001: Registered 15 starts at right defensive end. Recorded career highs with 96 tackles (47 solo) and two forced fumbles, and tied career bests with two interceptions and one fumble recovery. Also finished second on team with nine sacks and had three passes defensed. Finished 10th in the NFC in sacks.
2000: Started all 16 games at right defensive end. Made 71 tackles and career-high 11.0 sacks. Also had four passes defensed and one forced fumble. Tied for seventh in NFC in sacks.
1999: Started all 16 regular season games and three playoff games at right defensive end. Selected to 1999 All-Madden team while setting career highs in tackles (60), sacks (6.5), interceptions (two), interception returns for touchdown (two), passes defensed (two), and tied career high with one fumble recovery.
1998: Played in 13 games on defense and on special teams. Finished season with 30 tackles, three sacks, one fumble recovery, and five special teams tackles. Named Rams Defensive Rookie of the Year by coaches. Made first-career sack in first quarter versus San Francisco (10/25).
