| Biography: |
2005: Hill was drafted by the Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2005 draft (105th overall).
College Career: Another highly recruited offensive lineman out of Texas, Willis teamed with Alex Barron to give the Seminoles one of the best tackle tandems in college football. Willis is a well-respected team leader who is mature, married and takes great pride in his play. He has above-average ability to sustain blocks and always plays with solid effort.
He was an all-district, Class 5A all-state selection and All-Midland Region choice as a senior at Angleton High (Texas). His prep team ran a West Coast-style offense and he earned SuperPrep Top 30 honors, in addition to being rated the 34th-best offensive lineman in the country by Rivals.com. He chose FSU over Texas A&M, Purdue, Tulane, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Willis red-shirted as a freshman in 2000, but entered the FSU program with a heavy heart, as his mother passed away during his first day on campus. He played in every game in 2002, earning three starting assignments for an injured Todd Williams. Willis took over right tackle duties in 2002, but missed two games (Duke and Virginia) with a right ankle sprain. He also played the second half of that year with a left shoulder injury that would require surgery after the season.
Willis would extend his string to 35 career starts by lining up at right tackle in every contest during the 2004 campaign. |
