| Emotional leader of the Bears defense was recognized for his stellar 2005 season by earning his first Pro Bowl selection and was tabbed second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press. Intense and hard-hitting player who owns the franchise record with 6 career defensive TDs, 4 by INT returns - tied for the Bears all-time record - and 2 fumble returns, and ranks as Chicago's active career leader with 14 INTs. Since entering the NFL in 2000, Brown is tied for 3rd with 8 others for most INT returns for TDs (Derrick Brooks, TB; Darren Sharper, MIN-GB - 5). Tops franchise list for career fumble return yards with 218 on 5 fumble recoveries including TD returns of 62 and 95 yards. Played in first 66 games consecutively of career and started 65 of those contests. Started the first 44 games of his career, missed 1 start in 2002, and before starting 21 consecutively. Has ranked in the top-5 on the Bears in tackles in every season except 2004. Led team in INTs in consecutive seasons (2001-02). All-Pro performer in 2001 with career-high 5 INTs, highlighted by three-game INT streak kicked-off by game-winning INT returns for TDs in overtime against the 49ers and Browns in back-to-back games - an NFL first. As a rookie, paced Bears secondary with 102 tackles, becoming just the 7th Bears rookie since 1974 to record over 100 tackles, while his scoring INT return made him the first Bears rookie since 1993 (Myron Baker) to record a defensive TD. |
