The Arizona Cardinals selected Leonard Pope in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft, which marked the first tight end to be drafted by the Cardinals since 2002 (Mike Banks, seventh round).

Saw action in 13 games with 11 starts before he sat out the rest of the year due to an ankle injury. He compiled 238 yards, which was good for five touchdowns.
