Biography:
Pro
2007:
Nearly led the Packers to a comeback win over the Cowboys Nov. 29 in his only significant playing time of the season.

Rodgers, who finished his third season in Green Bay, played in two games, completing 20 of 28 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown. He also played in one series at the end of the Packers’ win over Seattle in the playoffs, but did not attempt a pass.

2006: Got some significant action Nov. 19 when Favre went down with the elbow injury. But he sustained a broken bone in his left foot early in third quarter of same game, though, gutted it out and finished the game. ... Placed on injured reserve on Nov. 21. ... Finished season completing 6 of 15 passes for 46 yards (40%) and no touchdowns, and a passer rating of 48.2.

2005: Selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft (24th overall) by the Green Bay Packers. Played in only two games - Oct. 9 in a rout over New Orleans and Dec. 19 in a blowout loss to Baltimore. ... Completed 9 of 16 passes for 65 yards with one interception, all but one of his attempts against the Ravens. Had QB rating of 39.8.
College
His 161.2 passing efficiency rating in 2004 established a school season-record, as he led the fifth-ranked offense (492.4 ypg) in the NCAA Division 1-A ranks. He boasts a 17-5 record as a starting quarterback for the Bears. ... In two seasons at California, Aaron completed 424 of 665 passes (63.8%) for 5469 yards, 43 touchdowns adding 336 yards and eight scores on 160 rushing attempts.
Junior college transfer who made a major mark on the Cal program in 2003 and 2004. All-Conference selection as a junior after posting 66.1%/2,566/24/8. Also added 247 yards rushing with 3 additional scores. Sophomore quarterbacking totals were 61.6%/2,903/19/5.

High School
A two-time All-Section selection at Pleasant Valley (Chico, Cal.) High School, where he threw for 2176 yards as a senior and 2243 yards during his junior campaign.

Positives
Athletic passer with the physical skills and mental intangibles needed to lead a franchise at the next level. Quickly sets up in the pocket, sells ball fakes and technically very sound. Poised under the rush, steps up to avoid defenders and works to keep the play alive. Patient, buys time in the pocket and waits for receivers to come free. Does an excellent job with his reads and natural looking off the safety. Does not make mental errors and throws the ball away rather than toss the errant pass. Times the short and intermediate throws well, as receivers rarely wait for the ball out of their breaks. Outstanding vision and immediately spots the open receiver. Possesses a quick release, live arm and zips the outs or gets the ball downfield. Throws with touch. Sits in the pocket and takes a big hit in order to get the pass off. Fleet-footed and picks up yardage with his legs when necessary.

Negatives
Though accurate, lacks top pass placement and has receivers extending vertically to pull the ball out of the air. Must improve his accuracy down the field. Lacks top footwork releasing the ball off a three step drop. Lacks pocket stature.

Analysis
A physically gifted passer with a great understanding of the position, Rodgers has made himself one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects the past two seasons. May not fit every system, but should quickly flourish in the NFL for a timing offens
