2009 outlook: Harris, who turns 35 in December, saw his career thrown into jeopardy when he suffered an injured spleen against Dallas that snapped his streak of 175 consecutive games. Rather than face retirement, Harris missed only four games and was back on the field as a starter against Tennessee after the bye week. Harris’ play and guts earned the attention of his peers. He was voted a Pro Bowl alternate and wound up replacing Charles Woodson. In his first game back, he helped smother Tennessee’s receivers. Then he shut out the Vikings’ Bernard Berrian after the speedster had posted 100-yard games in three of his last four games. He finished the season without an interception for the first time since 2000 but broke up 12 passes.
2007: Had his roughest outings in the team’s two biggest games – at Dallas in late November and in the NFC Championship Game against the New York Giants. Was beaten repeatedly by the Cowboys’ Terrell Owens and the Giants’ Plaxico Burress.
Take away those two games, however, and Harris performed at a Pro Bowl level worthy of being named to his first all-star game in Hawaii. ... Started in all 18 of Green Bay’s games. He had 37 tackles (34 solo), two interceptions and nine passes defensed in the regular season. ... Agreed to two-year contract extension Feb. 13. ... Signed a five-year, $19 million (including $7 million in bonuses) contract extension with the Packers on Sept. 11. ... Had team-high 28 for the season, surpassing the single-season record held by Doug Evans (27, 1995). Led the team in passes defensed with 28, including 1 INT, in addition to making 67 tackles (62 solo). Started all 16 games.
2003: Started all 16 games in 2003 at right cornerback after he was acquired by Packers in a February trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. ...
