Arizona mauls Seattle at Qwest

After last week's trouncing of Jacksonville at home, it appeared Seattle's offensive woes were over. However, on Sunday against division-rival Arizona at Qwest, the Seahawks looked completely inept, managing just 124 yards of offense in a 27-3 blowout that wasn't as close as the final score appeared.

Arizona QB Kurt Warner had a big day throwing against the Seahawks, completing 32 of 41 passes for 276 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

On the Cardinals' opening drive, Warner methodically picked apart Seattle's secondary, going eight of eight for 64 yards, including a two-yard touchdown to WR Larry Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald also had a huge day, contributing 13 receptions for 100 yards and the opening touchdown as well.

Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck, coming off an outstanding performance last week, was harassed and tormented the entire game by the Cardinals' front seven, getting sacked five times and hit on numerous other occasions. He only managed to complete 10 of 29 passes for 124 yards and had two turnovers -- an interception and a fumble.

Seattle's lone big play of the day came when, down 17, P Jon Ryan took a snap and hit TE John Carlson who rumbled 42 yards appearing to give the Seahawks new life. However, the offense was unable to capitalize on the outstanding field position and settled for their only points of the day, a 28-yard Olindo Mare field goal.

Besides being beaten on the scoreboard, Seattle also came away with yet another injury, this one coming to defensive leader Lofa Tatupu who left with what appeared to be an injury to his left shoulder.

Seattle, now 2-4, heads into their bye week hoping to get healthy before they have to travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys on November 1st. Recommended Stories
